Information

Who is This Trip For?

There are many island hopping trips departing El Nido to explore Bacuit Bay, usually advertised as “A B C Tours.” These tours are usually on a small boat, shared with other tourists. Tao trips are not just island hopping day trips, they are all inclusive experiences of the islands themselves.

  • Tao destinations are away from the crowded “ABC’ tours
  • More time on the islands as you don’t need to return to town at 4pm.
  • Tao Boats are spacious, designed for expeditions to Coron, with sundecks for lounging, onboard kitchens, toilets and showers. They sail higher above the waves so are safer and more stable
  • Additionally to Bacuit Bay, we explore the coast of El Nido, Daracouton Bay and beyond, well away from the tourist crowds

What Is Not Included in the Price of the Trip?

  • Drinks from the bar. Available on board is a bar serving cold beer, soft drinks and cocktails. We use a “cashless bracelet’ system so you don’t have to carry your wallet
  • Corkage for bottles if you bring your own drinks that we don’t provide  (wine, champagne etc.)
  • Massages (available in certain base camps)
  • Towels and toiletries are available to buy or rent
  • Eco Tourism Development Fee (approx 5 USD) –  every visitor to El Nido must secure this necessary permit when they arrive in town
  • Tip for the crew. If you enjoy the service, the crew will enjoy a tip!

Packing List

  • Clothes for the day (swimwear for getting in and out of the water, shorts, t-shirts and sleeveless tops) and night (light trousers and long sleeves to minimise insect bites)
  • Sun protection (sunblock, hats, sunglasses)
  • Wash kit (soap, shampoo, toothbrush and toothpaste)
  • Insect repellent
  • Bath towels
  • Sarong (day/beach towels) for drying up, lounging, and wrapping around your head as additional sun protection
  • Reusable water bottle (no plastic bottles allowed on board – if you don’t want to invest then ask for an empty rum bottle)
  • Sandals/flip-flops and Reef shoes (you might need Trek shoes in some parts too)
  • Flashlights/headlamps for getting around in the dark
  • Rash Guard to guard against…rashes, the sun, and jellyfish stings
  • Other small items you may want or need: flippers, camera (but be careful with salt water damage; we recommend an extra dry bag for electronics), a book, a journal, an open mind, a good attitude, a sunny disposition….

Check-in, Departure and Arrival

Guests are required to check in at the Tao Office in Corong-Corong before their trip.
We recommend that you check in and meet the crew for a briefing the night before departure so that everyone is orientated and ready to leave early on the day of departure.
The El Nido Safari is a private trip, so you can adjust departure and arrival times depending on your group. There is no rush and we can leave when you are ready. However, most guests opt for the following schedule:
  • DEPARTURE TIME: 8:00am, Tao Office, El Nido
  • ARRIVAL TIME: 17:00pm, Tao Office, El Nido

Drop off after your trip at a resort or Lio Airport can be arranged. Just let us know in advance!
