1. Arrive in PALAWAN at least one day before of departure.
Plan to be in your town of departure the day before your departure date. You need to attend a group briefing in the evening and the boat leaves early the next day. So if your trip is 5th March El Nido to Coron, you need to plan to be in El Nido town on 4th March.
If your trip departs from Coron you will need to book a flight to Busuanga Airport [USU] . Several airlines fly here from Manila and other destinations. Check out Cebu Pacific, Philippine Airlines. and Sunlight Air.
If your trip departs from El Nido you will need to book a flight to El Nido Airport [ENI]. Only one airline flys here AirSWIFT. Alternatively you can fly south to Puerto Princessa [PPS] which is a 4 hour drive through beautiful rice field and jungle. Check out Airasia, Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines. San Vincente is another option to acess El Nido, located 2h south, check Sunlight Air for flights.
2. Book a hotel in town near the office.
When booking a place to stay for the night before departure, we suggest to avoid booking accommodation out of town as you need to come to the briefing and return afterwards.

TAO EL NIDO OFFICE: Tao House, National Road, Barangay Corong Corong.
TAO CORON OFFICE: Don Pedro St. Centre of town.
3. Attend the Group Briefing.
You need to attend a group briefing the night before your departure. the time and location can be found on your Booking Confirmation. This is to meet your Expedition Leader who will give you an introduction to Tao, tell you what to expect and make any last minute preparations. You will also meet the other travelers in your group, so its an important to attend to make the most out of your time with us.
4. Read the Packing List.
We have complied a detailed packing list for everything you will need. the rest of your luggage including valuables will be packed away onboard and can be accessed at certain times during the expedition.
5. Receive your Cashless bracelet.
During the briefing you will be given a cashless bracelet for you to purchase extras such as drinks from the bar and massages. This is so your wallet is kept safe inside your luggage onboard. You pay your balance before leaving the boat at the end of your trip.
6. Know about Sleeping Arrangements, Showers and Toilets Situations.
You will be sleeping in open sided bamboo huts called Tukas. They are open the the breeze but sheltered for the rain. Mattresses, pillows, sheets and mosquito nets are provided. Shared toilets and showers located nearby. Remember not to flush toilet paper in the Philippines.
7. Expect Limited electricity.
All our basecamps are completely off grid. Some are fully solar powered and some have a small generator for lights and charging batteries. Make sure your cameras and any extra battery packs are fully charged before departure. Pack a flashlight or torch to find your way in the dark.
8. Pay your Environmental Fees.
The local governments of El Nido and Coron have a Eco Tourism Development Fee, a small compulsory tax for every visitor. Keep your receipt to show to the coastguard before departure.
9. Make sure you have valid travel insurance.
You will be traveling to a remote region far from any hospital. Make sure you have valid travel insurance. Look after yourself and each other, pay attention to the safety briefings. Let the crew know of any medical conditions, medications or dietary requirements before the trip.
10. Prepare to Observe Digital Detox.
Call your loved ones and let them know that you will be going off grid. There is intermittent cell phone coverage throughout the islands, however we strongly request you to leave your phone on flight mode and use only to take pictures. Take this opportunity to get off your phone, have a digital detox. Give yourself and everyone else a break form the noise of the modern world!
